Sunset Wallflowers

Sunset Wallflowers
Oil On Canvas Board 2012
Available for Sale

This is my most recent piece, done in the studio yesterday. It was inspired by a trip to Cornwall I made over 20 years ago and my mother’s recent accounts of her trip there last week have planted seeds that have borne fruit rather quickly.  The dry stone walls in Cornwall are a very beautiful thing in their own right, but the older ones, reclaimed by nature have beautiful wild flowers all over them. Instead of being shy wallflowers hiding in the shade of the wall, these ones have climbed to the top and they watch the showy sunset, waving in the breeze like kids at a rock gig.
